This is a shot I took of TJ a few years ago sitting on his skateboard. When he isn't being a teenager he can be so sweet.

Temperature Gauge

We had an ice storm here in Texas today which is a rare thing. I snapped a shot of the temperature gauge on the grill. I like the juxtaposition of the ice & the gauge pointing to hot along with the warm and cool tones on either side of it.

Snow Day

Today the kids got a snow day which is a rare treat in Texas. I snapped this picture of one of the neighborhood kids.

I have been going through old pictures of the kids and ran across this one of TJ.

Papa in 2009

I took the opportunity to take some shots of Papa while we were visiting. I wanted to get a shot of him holding his famous root beer mug. He is also a jewelry designer. He and his wife traveled all through Colorado searching for stones.

Papa & Mimi in 1939

I went to visit my girlfriend's Papa this weekend & scanned this shot of him & Mimi. It was taken right after they got married in 1939. He proposed to her two weeks after they met. They met while she was working at a root beer stand. The root beer mug still sits on his shelf almost 70 years later. She passed away last weekend.

My New 50mm Lens

I bought a new 50 mm f/1.4 lens for my camera which gives me a super shallow depth of field. I took a quick test shot of one of the neighborhood kids with the lens wide open.
